How to read an Army ASVAB requirement

Every Army MOS in this catalog carries a qualifying score condition taken from the Army's enlisted MOS specification. The condition is written in line scores such as ST (Skilled Technical), never in AFQT. AFQT is the percentile that decides whether you can enlist at all; a line score is an aptitude area composite built from specific ASVAB subtests. ST, for example, is GS + VE (verbal: WK and PC) + MK + MC. Your ASVAB report prints both kinds of score, so the number to compare against a job threshold is the line score on the report, not your AFQT.

A requirement such as CO ≥ 77 means the CO on your report must be at least 77. Some MOS accept more than one path: 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic lists MM ≥ 92 or (MM ≥ 87 and GT ≥ 85), and meeting either path satisfies the score condition. Because each line score mixes different subtests, a number in one line score cannot be compared with a number in another; a CL 90 and a ST 91 are not one point apart in difficulty. Compare thresholds within the same line score, and use the score checker to test your actual report against every job at once.

Each threshold on this site is recorded from the official Army PDF with its URL, the paragraph it comes from and the date it was checked; the most recent check is 2026-09-12. Only requirements verified against the current document are published. When the Army rescinds an MOS, its page stays online as a labeled historical record but it leaves every list and the checker. Composite definitions follow DA PAM 611-21, Military Occupational Classification and Structure, Table 10-1 (ASVAB aptitude area composites); the Army score guide explains each line score and the range of thresholds it must meet. Read the methodology for source boundaries.

A score threshold is one condition among several. The Army also evaluates OPAT physical testing, medical screening, security clearance, component eligibility and training-seat availability, none of which appear here. Meeting a threshold on this page means you clear the score gate for that MOS; confirm everything else with a recruiter.

Frequently asked questions

How many Army jobs are listed here, and where do the scores come from?

119 Army MOS across 24 career management fields, each with a line score threshold recorded from the official Army enlisted MOS specification. Every entry links to the source document and shows the date it was checked; the newest check is 2026-09-12. Records that could not be verified are held back and never published.

Which Army job has the lowest ASVAB score requirement?

The lowest entry threshold on this site is CO ≥ 77 for 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman (CMF 11 Infantry). A threshold in one line score is not directly comparable with one in another, because each line score is built from different subtests; the "lowest-threshold" table on this page lists the next lowest entries so you can compare within a score type.

Which line score do most Army jobs use?

ST (Skilled Technical) is required by 46 of the 119 verified jobs, with thresholds from ST ≥ 85 to ST ≥ 112. It is built from GS + VE (verbal: WK and PC) + MK + MC. GT is next, required by 30 jobs.

What does it mean when a job lists two requirements with "or"?

Some MOS accept more than one qualifying path. 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic lists MM ≥ 92 or (MM ≥ 87 and GT ≥ 85): meeting either path satisfies the score condition. The score checker evaluates every path and shows the one closest to your report.

Are these AFQT scores?

No. AFQT is the percentile that decides general enlistment eligibility. The thresholds on this page are Army line scores (aptitude area composites such as GT, ST, CO) that decide job qualification. Both are printed on your ASVAB report; a high AFQT does not by itself meet any line score threshold.
